Our Lawyers

Will Cowell – Partner, Buckles Solicitors LLP

I deal with family and litigation matters, advising on pre-and post-nuptial agreements, relationship breakdown, divorce and financial problems arising from those situations, and private children matters.

I regard myself first and foremost as a problem solver, initially working in the engineering sector, and since 1990, in the legal sector. I’ve always been drawn to solving the kind of problems that too often end up in the Courts, quickly identifying the key issues and then devising creative solutions that produce the best outcome possible for my clients without doing harm in the wider context – this is especially important in family cases.

I’m an enthusiastic exponent of collaborative family law techniques. If possible, I prefer to find solutions which allow clients to get on with their lives without the need to pursue costly court action.

I was one of the first members of the Solicitors’ Family Law Association in the 1980’s which later re-branded as Resolution. I’m a Resolution Accredited Specialist in Matrimonial Finances and Private Children work. I was a dedicated member of the Committee of Cambridge Law Society for 14 years, serving as Treasurer and twice as President, ensuring its continued growth in that time.
